October 15, 2026Somebody Has to Beat Dave Eventually
Dave is the last unbeaten team in the league, and this week Swap gets the next crack at him. Nobody needs a Dave loss more than Mike, who can't gain ground in the East on his own, and Swap needs this one to climb back to .500 after five weeks of bad breaks.
John leads this series 10-7, and Brad would love to chip into it. Brad's backfield, Bijan Robinson, Ashton Jeanty and Jaylen Warren, reads like three separate lead backs. John answered with the week's biggest waiver bid, $17 for Jacory Croskey-Merritt, a sign his own backfield needed help.
Dave is the league's only unbeaten team, and losing ends that run. Swap, the league's unluckiest team, needs a win to get back to .500. Dave's doing it without Jahmyr Gibbs, one of the league's best backs, on bye. Xavier Worthy over Stefon Diggs is a call Dave barely has to sweat.
Richie's counting on lightning striking twice after last week's loudest number, since a repeat pulls him back to .500. Bubar, with Travis Kelce and a crowded receiver room, can't let it happen again; a loss drops him to 1-5. Khalil Shakir over Dontayvion Wicks is about as thin as calls get.
Vick controls his own West race and won't help Mike close the gap on Dave in the East. Vick cooled off after a big Week 4. Mike counters without Amon-Ra St. Brown, one of the league's best receivers, on bye. Woody Marks over DK Metcalf comes down to a tenth of a point.
Kyle's Jared Goff is on bye, so $13 of his FAAB went to Jordan Love. A win gets Kyle back within a game of .500; a loss drops him to 1-5. Brandon's issue is bigger: Jalen Hurts has no healthy backup, and he needs a transaction before kickoff to field a lineup.
Keep an eye on Brad. He sits third in the standings despite ranking ninth in points scored, about as lucky a formula as any team is running. If it keeps working, the West has a real problem on its hands.
