League rules

Scoring

Half-point PPR (0.5 points per reception).

The full scoring table has 40 individual rules (yardage/TD/turnover values, bonus thresholds, etc.) — not itemized here since the reception bonus above is the one that actually distinguishes this league's scoring from standard. Ask Brandon if a specific stat's point value matters.

Roster & lineup

10 starting spots: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1 D/ST, 1 K.

6 bench spots — 16-man roster total.

Sourced from the 2024 and 2025 seasons' ESPN roster settings (the only two seasons with a full settings pull on disk) — identical between the two years. Not confirmed further back than that.

Playoffs

Top 6 teams make the playoffs, every season 2016–2025.

Confirmed directly against every season's league settings — the playoff field size is the one format detail that's never changed across the league's 10-year history.

Waivers & FAAB

FAAB waivers — $100 budget per team per season, no minimum bid.

Waivers process nearly daily (all days except Tuesday), 24 hours after a player is dropped.

Sourced from the 2024/2025 ESPN acquisition settings.

Trades

The league has a trade deadline — it lands in late November (Nov 28, 2025 and Nov 29, 2024 in the two seasons checked), varying year to year with the NFL schedule.

5 league members must vote to veto a trade for it to be reversed.

No fixed week-of-season rule found in the data — just the resulting dates. Ask Brandon if a precise rule needs to be stated here.

Keepers

Keeper rules: TBD. Still an open decision — see docs/build-guide.md Outstanding Items for the two unresolved questions (what season the keeper rule started, and the league's cost-round rule). This section gets filled in once Brandon confirms both.

Fun rules

Unofficial, unenforced by ESPN, enforced by peer pressure.

  1. 1. The Goose Rule. If you start a player in your lineup who gooses you — scores zero or negative points that week, same definition as the Goose Counter — you shotgun a beer on video before next week's games start.
  2. 2. Multiple gooses, multiple shotguns. More than one goose in a given week means one shotgun per goose. No averaging, no discount for volume.
  3. 3. Champion's privilege. The league champion picks next season's draft location.
